I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Concept
The design assumptions of company founders and remodelers have a huge impact on organizational design. Some of these assumptions will be explicit; the owners will be aware of these. Others will be implicit; the owners will be unaware of these. If an executive believes in one man, one boss, that will affect his or her decisions. If an executive believes in less than 10 subordinates, that will affect the design.
Some other design related assumptions include the following:
1. The organization should face its customers.
2. We need to be 100 percent sure our employees don’t do anything unethical or illegal.
3. Our competitive advantage has been and will be delivering the highest product quality.
