37. Revisiting the Dream

Concept

The last element in Newburg’s Resonance Model is revisiting the dream. By this, he means regaining intimate contact with one’s early, feel-based choices in life. Somewhere along the line, we get told what to do, how to do it, and to put our feelings aside.

“Revisiting the Dream” means finding those feelings again, paying attention to them, and managing your life and career accordingly. For many, this means a deep re-evaluation of where they are and what they want. It means a shift in focus from external outcomes to internal experience—which by the way leads to better external outcomes.
