The “Greenland” case (UVA-OB-0581) describes the history and experience of a group of four Norwegians who set a world record in cross-country skiing pulling 250 pound sleds across Greenland, the globe’s largest island. While this is an unusual case for a business school discussion, every one of the 200+ times I have taught this case, people identify 20+ lessons that one can learn about creating world-class teams. I will simply list these insights here and invite interested parties to read the whole case.70 These insights were also enumerated in a book chapter.71
