DEUTERIUM BROMIDE

Deuterium bromide (DBr) has properties very similar to hydrogen bromide (HBr) as expected. The attachment rate constant for the molecule is 3.1 × 10−17 m3/s (Christophorou et al., 1968). The attachment cross sections are very similar to that for HBr, the ion formed being Br due to dissociative attachment. Table 14.1 shows the electron attachment data for DBr and HBr.
