Isooctane (i-C8H18), synonym 2,2,4-trimethylpentane, is a nonpolar, saturated hydrocarbon molecule with 66 electrons. Its ionization potential is 9.86 eV. A single study of partial and total ionization cross sections has been carried out by Bouamra et al., (2003) as shown in Table 136.1 and Figures 136.1 and 136.2.
