Iodobenzene (C6H5I) is a polar electron-attaching gas that has one hydrogen atom from benzene replaced with iodine atom. It has 94 electrons. The electronic polarizability is 17.25 × 10−40 F m2, dipole moment 1.70 D and ionization potential 8.685 eV. Resonances due to electron attachment are measured at 0.59 and 4.3 eV (Olthoff et al., 1985).
