Tribromoethene (C2HBr3) is an electron-attaching gas that has 118 electrons.
The thermal attachment rate constant for C2HBr3 is 1.2 × 10−13 m3/s (Sunagawa and Shimamori, 1995). Figure 83.1 shows the attachment rates as a function of mean energy of the electron swarm, measured by the same authors.
Table 83.1 and Figure 83.2 show the dissociative attachment cross section as a function of mean energy derived by Sunagawa and Shimamori (1995). The attachment cross section, as in most bromine-containing compounds has a peak at zero energy.
