BROMOCHLORO-METHANE
CONTENTS
Bromochloromethane (CH2BrCl), synonym Halon 1011, is a polar, electron-attaching gas that has 60 electrons. Its electronic polarizability is quoted as 8.34 × 10−40 F m2 (see Beran and Keran, 1969), dipole moment 1.66 D, and ionization potential 10.77 eV. The vibrational modes and energies are shown in Table 46.1.
46.1 IONIZATION CROSS SECTION
A single value of total ionization cross section of 14.7 × 10−20 m2 at 70 eV electron energy is reported by Beran and Kevan (1969).
