Selling or upselling your app
Sell your app in the App Store or Play Store. This is the most obvious way of monetizating your app. This works well only if people are very much aware of your app's existence and great reputation, or if the provided added value of your app is very clear. In the early days of the App Store, this problem was solved by publishing two apps: a light, free version and a chargeable premium version. Today, it has become more common to apply the freemium model by using in-app purchases (Apple's term). Google uses the term "In-app Billing" for Android devices. The idea is the same, though.
