I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Practice Golden Rule Management
You express courtesy toward your staff when you show personal regard and respect for each person. When you maintain a courteous demeanor—especially under stress, when a situation goes wrong, or when an employee has a problem—you increase your people’s feelings of security and comfort in the workplace. When you are courteous to people, it leads to improved morale and higher motivation.
The key to the friendship factor is for you to practice what is called the “Golden Rule of Management.” Treat other people the way you would like to be treated by your superiors. Treat your staff members as if they are partners or clients—as essential, valued parts of the enterprise.
