Management by Measurement
Over the years, the Baldrige Awards have focused on what is called “management by measurement.” Every activity of the company is broken down into numbers and then carefully measured and compared against previous and current performance, and the performance of other organizations in the same field. The goal is to continually improve the numbers that indicate quality in a particular area of activity by carefully monitoring those numbers.
