I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Give Them Autonomy and Freedom
Two powerful motivators in the world of work are autonomy and freedom. They go together, hand in hand. People need to stand out as individuals, to be clearly responsible for the completion of important tasks, and to be measured for individual performance rather than just team performance. At the same time, people want complete freedom to do the job in their way and on their own schedule.
Freedom and responsibility also go hand in hand. The more freedom you give people to do their work, the more responsibility they must be willing to take on to get the job done to the agreed-on standards and by the agreed-on deadline.
