I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Avoid Distraction
Today, the greatest enemy of high performance in the world of work is distraction. People are surrounded by too many distracting influences: notifications of newly arrived e-mails, telephone calls on mobile phones, text messages coming through, and especially interruptions by other people who are also living and working in a world of distraction.
Your job is to maximize the performance of your most important and expensive asset—your human resources. You should be continually repeating and reaffirming the importance of your employees working on their most valuable tasks and disciplining themselves to get those tasks completed on time and on budget.
