THE LEADERSHIP ROLE OF CONSULTANTS
Consulting is a leadership responsibility, and successful consultants need to understand the way in which this is exercised throughout a project.
Even though leadership is a very big topic (see, for example, Bennis, 2009; Buckingham & Clifton, 2001; Drucker, 2008; Goleman, 1998, 2000; Hill, 2003; Roberts, 1990) and beyond the scope of this book, it is valuable to discuss at least the rudiments of what it is, how it works, and why it is important in consulting.
