A full treatment of the issue of teams and team building is beyond the scope of this book, but this chapter provides a basic set of models, steps, and skills needed to turn a group into a team. We examine:
- The definition of a team
- The stages of group development that end in a team
- Behavior that helps or hinders team development
- Diagnosing group and team problems
- Project leader style and actions that help group members become a team
Appendix E provides an overview of various diagnostic procedures and instruments that can be used in team development.
