Consulting Competencies
So far, we have shown the tasks of each stage and role of consulting in order to translate the model’s broad concepts into concrete actions needed to produce the outcomes. But what does a consultant need to know and be able to do, to perform those tasks? The final development of the model is to describe each role as a set of consulting competencies, which in turn can be described as a set of behavioral practices. Table 3.1 shows the competencies and practices; each is examined more closely in subsequent chapters.
