Clients expect consultants to recommend changes that will give them a competitive advantage. In producing solutions to client problems, consultants are therefore change agents that drive and thrive on change (McKenna, 2006). The basic process they use to do this is shown in Figure 2.2, involving gathering data, presenting analysis, and recommending new policies and changes.
