Table 6.1 shows the three competencies and twelve behavioral practices associated with the mobilizing stage and the aligning role in the consulting cycle. This stage begins with the client accepting our proposal and ends with the formal launch of the project at a so-called kick-off meeting. In between there are a myriad of human relations issues and challenges, from getting people to join the project, understanding roles, and group formation, to technical matters concerning project planning and delegation, risk assessment, and setting up a successful project launch meeting.
