This provides a means for you to boot a computer over a network when it doesn't have its own operating system installed. Booting over the network requires a computer to have a network card that supports a pre-boot execution environment (PXE – pronounced pixie). Most modern systems will support this, though it may have to be enabled in the system's BIOS.
