Satellite

Satellite WAN is an ideal connectivity solution in areas where the laying of cables is problematic, such as rural locations, hazardous terrain, on board ships, and so on. Laying cables to each of the aforementioned locations would be either prohibitively expensive or impossible. Although still a relatively expensive option, satellite avoids the problem of laying cables to these areas by utilizing satellites in a geo-stationary orbit above the equator. Geo-stationary means the satellite orbits the earth at the same speed the earth is rotating, thus allowing the satellite to be easily located.
