I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
DHCP leases
Once all the IP addresses have been issued from the pool to the hosts, no more devices can be serviced by the DHCP server for that particular scope. This is known as IP address exhaustion. To try and reduce this, each IP address is leased to a host for a set period of time known as a lease duration (Figure 14.5). For wired devices, this is usually set to about 7 days; for wireless devices, this is usually set to 8 hours only. The reason for this disparity is that it is generally assumed that wireless devices are more likely to be guests visiting for a short period of time, and there may be a heavy rotation of guests. Wi-Fi in a coffee shop is a perfect example of where this may happen:
