So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Configuring a DHCP server
In this section, I would like us to focus more on the server side of DHCP. Although DHCP is not solely a Microsoft product, and is used on various different devices and operating systems, I will be discussing configuring DHCP on a Microsoft Server.
Once we have identified the server we wish to install DHCP on, we need to add the DHCP role to the machine. On completion of the role installation, we then need to configure the server settings. As a DHCP server can have multiple DHCP scopes, we may have settings that are common across all scopes. These can be configured in Server Options (Figure 14.2):
