NTFS permissions

NTFS permissions apply to both files and folders, and apply regardless of whether you are accessing locally or across the network. Again, the process for configuring the permissions is relatively simple and we will demonstrate this in the following example:

  1. Create a new folder on your desktop and call it NTFS.
  2. Right-click on the folder and choose Properties.
  3. Click on the Security tab.
If this tab is not present, it means the underlying filesystem on the device is not NTFS.
