■ mbox と Maildir
メールサーバーに届いたメールを保存するとき、1 つのファイルに複数の
メールを格納する代表的な形式としてmbox（Mailbox）があります。
UNIX 系の OS で古くからメールボックスとしてよく使われていた形式で、
ユーザー単位にそのユーザー宛のメールを複数並べて 1 つのファイルに保存
します。
つまり、ユーザーの数だけファイルを用意しておき、新しいメールが届いた
ときは、そのメールを該当ユーザーのファイルの末尾に追加するだけなのでシ
ンプルです【図 2-6】。
