The analogy of ‘War’ implies a decisive battle between two armies where one defeats and destroys the other. The allusion is unhelpful, since the norm is for the battle to drag into a long and painful war of attrition. One side rarely defeats the other. Normally both sides lose resources and damage industry credibility and reputation.
