システムに問題を引き起こす原因の1 つに物理的脅威があります。物理
的脅威は、物理的に損失を引き起こす要因を指します。
具体的には6-2 でも述べたような、
が物理的脅威に分類されます（図7-1）。
物理的脅威の事例をいくつか解説します（図7-2）。

地震や洪水によって機器が倒壊したり水に浸かったりして壊れるリ
スクがあります。また、落雷によって電源が落ちてしまうという問題
が発生する恐れもあります。転倒や落下防止などの耐震対策や、非常
用のために遠隔地にバックアップを用意しておく、停電や瞬停に備え
てUPS（無停電電源装置）や自家発電装置を設けるといった対応が求
められます。

不法侵入によって機器の盗難にあったり、壊されてしまうというリ
スクがあるため、機器が置いてある部屋やラックの施錠、入退室の管
理といった防犯対策が必要になります。

長年使用している機器は、老朽化によって壊れてしまう可能性が考
えられます。
突然の故障に備えてデータのバックアップを取っておいたり、予備
装置を設けて冗長化して運用する方法があります。
