作成したデータベースの名前は一覧で確認することができます。
MySQLの場合は「SHOWDATABASES」といったコマンドを使用し
ます（図3-9）。
3-3のようにしてデータベースを作成した後、データベースが正しく
作成されているかを確認したり、削除する前や、この後解説するデータベ
ースの選択時に、対象のデータベースの名前を確認したりするシチュエー
ションで用いられます。
データベースに対して何か作業を行う際には、

3-10 のように「USE」の後にデータベース名を指定すると、これからそ
の名前のデータベースを使いますよ、と宣言することができ、その後の操

業に切り替えたいといったときは、再度「USE」コマンドを実行して別の
データベースを指定します。すると、その後の作業は新しく切り替えたデ
