It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

データベース自体にAI（人工知能）の機能を取り入れたAIデータベー
スといった製品も出てきています。
IBMが発表した「IBMDb2theAIdatabase」では、複数の場所に点在し
て個別管理されているデータを集約することで横断した分析を可能にした
り、SQLをさらによい結果を得るためにチューニングしてくれる機能や、
SQLの代わりに「月ごとの平均売上」といった言葉でデータ検索してくれ
る機能が実装されています。さらに売上の結果をグラフ表示したり、将来
の予測を行ったりする機能など、これまでのデータベースを超えた使い方
もできるようになっています（図8-17）。これらの機能によってさらに
になってきました。
データベースには、データを便利に扱うための登録・整理・検索といっ
た機能がありますが、その先の目的にあるのは、データを効率的に保存し
てWeb上のページに表示したり、分析結果によってビジネスに役立てた
りするといった目標があるかと思います。その目的を達成するために必要
な導入や設計、データ管理は、ここで紹介しているAIデータベースのよ
うに、今までよりもますます簡単に便利に速くなっていくのかもしれませ
ん。
