Purpose/Objectives: Most managers think of performance evaluation as an
isolated process—a dreaded task done once a year to
meet organizational requirements. This activity
introduces participants to the benefits of an effective
performance appraisal program—benefits to the
manager, to the employee, and to the organization. In a
brainstorming exercise, participants list all the benefits
of a systematic approach to performance management
and evaluation. Focusing on the positive outcomes helps
participants see the advantages of learning the skills.
