Purpose/Objectives: When it works best, new employee orientation makes
new people fit into the operation quickly and become
productive in a minimum amount of time. When it works
poorly, orientation can leave people confused, unclear
about expectations, and less eager to contribute.
In this exercise, participants are asked to pull together
the components of an ideal new employee orientation
approach. As they do so in small groups, additional
participants are added in the middle of the task and a
