Introduction

Motivation is an energizing force. Motivated people are creative, take on challenges, and produce more and better work. Motivated employees are more willing to learn and to apply what they learn. Thus, improving motivation improves training outcomes.

Many factors affect motivation, external as well as internal. External factors include expectations of performance, reward structures, and organizational ethos. Internal factors include confidence, a feeling of belonging, trust, and a drive for self-efficacy.
