The idea for Smart Mentoring emerged from a change initiative we at the DIA undertook in 2004 to improve knowledge sharing and collaboration. As part of this initiative, we decided to form a cross-agency network called the Knowledge Lab, designed to break through traditional silos, bring together multiple perspectives, and provide a safe space for experimentation.
