Step 1: Identify Target User Needs

The first thing you want to do is identify the target user needs for your web page, device, or system. You can do that based on market research, interviews with users, hotline feedback, and so on. For our example involving a calendar for a social web page, the target user needs shown in Figure 8-1 were identified.
