If you don't have any models handy, or if you just need a simple model quickly, Godot has the ability to create certain 3D meshes directly. Add a MeshInstance node as a child of Spatial, and in the Inspector, click the Mesh property:

These predefined shapes are called primitives and they represent a handy collection of common useful shapes. You can use these shapes for a variety of purposes, as you'll see later in this chapter.
