Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)

Almost since the first agile project emerged from the primordial ooze, companies have been asking whether agile methodologies are compatible with the Software Engineering Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI). As a measure in some ways of how much process an organization has (or at least how much of it has been defined), the CMMI and its predecessor, the Software Capability Maturity Model (SW-CMM), are often viewed as heavyweight ways of developing software and the antithesis of agile development.
