Duplicating and separating vertices

One of the surest ways to ensure your cutouts and outlines are perfectly sized for the house is to use the exact same vertex placement. The Duplicate feature we used earlier to copy windows also works in Edit Mode on vertices, edges, and faces. We don't need to copy every vertex, just enough to make the new templates we need.

Let's look at the stonework for the front of the house. It is only on the bottom of the house, which currently houses two windows, a door, some stairs, and the bottom of an outside light. To make a template for where I will want the stonework, I will ultimately need copies of:

  • Four outside corners of the bottom front of the house
  • Four outside corners of the two windows
  • Since the stairs ...
