I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Finding the font filename
When you do try to change a font in Blender, you are picking it by the filename of the True Type Font (.ttf) file that is installed on your computer. Sometimes, these are pretty easy to guess or recognize. The filename for Arial, for example, is arial.ttf. Arial Black, a thicker version, gets a little more obscure with a filename of ariblk.ttf. If you are unsure of the filename of a particular font, you can look it up on your computer.
The steps on Windows 10 are as follows:
- Open up File Explorer to browse the folder structure of your computer.
- Browse to the C:\Windows\Fonts directory. You will see a listing of all the installed fonts with a handy preview of what the text would look like:
