So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Modeling a low-poly hand from a cube
Following the same process as the house figurine, you can start by scaling the default cube to an appropriate size. In my case, I'm going use the cube as the wrist of my hand. The steps are as follows:
- In Object Mode, right-click on the cube to select it. If necessary, move it to its proper spot. In my case, I move the cube to the wrist.
- Hit S to tell Blender to scale and then hit Z to scale along the Z axis. Use the mouse to shape the cube to an appropriate thickness for a wrist:
Scaling the height of the hand.- Repeat with S and Y and S and X to get a good fit for the wrist.
