When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
An important job of a facilitator is the ability to help people pay attention to group dialogue: in short, to help them become better listeners. This generally involves repeating what has been said and making sure that you and the group understand the meaning. You might find that individuals in the group have a variety of interpretations of what someone said, depending on their definitions of words, their response to trigger words, or simply careless listening. Note the following exchange:
| Susan: | I think we need to begin working on our project presentation. Who has ideas? |
| Lee: | I think we need to be sure to cover all objections that others will have. Be sure we address concerns. |
| Jim: | I don’t agree. Why raise issues ... |
