Do not interfere in the middle of the test

It is a common situation—a test participant has a problem and is struggling to complete a task. The temptation on the part of developers watching is to stop the test or intervene. But watching participants struggling with their prototype can help solve existing problems. Asking the users why they fought or what they were trying to do will produce more interesting results than holding their hands through the test.
