Engagement

Engagement is one of the most commonly used metrics on many sites. Understanding it can make a real contribution to how much people interact with a site or app: how much attention they put into it, how much time they spend on a particular flow, how happy they feel about it, the number of page hits, or even sharing on social networks.

Time is an essential factor in engagement metrics, but it can be combined with other metrics, such as page views, scrolling for certain page ranges, or a flow of action. Engagement is not easy to understand and it produces better results when combined with qualitative perceptions.
