Configuration using the WLC
Mobility Express is designed for small deployments and does not support more than 25 APs. Also, it requires the APs to be on the same broadcast domain, which is not possible in large deployments. Hence, large deployments use an external dedicated WLC that does not have these scalability limitations.
We will describe the deployment method for a large Wi-Fi deployment using a dedicated Cisco 2500 series WLC.
As discussed earlier, the CAPWAP protocol provides the discovery and configuration of the APs in a centralized deployment.
