The choice of the frequency band to use for the WLAN deployment in the organization depends upon multiple factors and might be influenced by the following factors:
- Deployment location: Some countries might not allow the use of 5 GHz band for WLANs and hence the only option is to use 2.4 GHz band and thus use 802.11n.
- Performance considerations: 5 GHz band provides much wider channels and hence greater bandwidth. 5 GHz is the choice if you want peak performance.
