The protocols we have studied so far are the protocols that are used for exchanging the routing information within the organization or a domain within a single administrative control. These protocols exchange a whole lot of information between the devices. When it comes to exchanging routing between two different organizations, or two networks under different administrative domains, we use a different set of protocols that are called Exterior Gateway Protocols.
