Summary

In this chapter, we discussed the data center functions and the networking devices used in the DC. We also looked at how the data centers have evolved with time to make them more agile and flexible, with technologies such as virtualization and converged adapters. We discussed the design for the data center, covering networking and security aspects. We finished the chapter with the section on providing access to corporate resources to mobile users.

In the next chapter, we will focus on securing the network infrastructure, and making the network and the applications secure. We will also discuss the different technologies and tools used for security in the next chapter.
