Frequency bands
There are two frequency bands in which most WLAN equipment operates. These fall in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. The actual channels allowed for use within these bands might be different in different countries, depending on the regulation. Different standards mandate the use of different bands, which we will discuss later in this chapter.
