Introduction
Every couple of years, Microsoft releases a new version of Windows Server, and if you don’t keep tabs on the differences between versions, entire new feature sets become available without you being aware. One thing that we have seen lately is that the newer versions of Windows improve performance, reliability, and scalability, partly because of the new features of Windows and partly because of advances in hardware systems and technologies. Sure enough, with Windows Server 2012, server hardware has increased in capacity. So, just by the nature of the equipment Windows is being installed on, the systems can host a lot more applications, support more users per system, and just overall do more than earlier versions of Windows.
