Installing the Failover Clustering Feature

Before a failover clustering can be deployed, the necessary feature must be installed on each Hyper-V host. To install the Failover Clustering feature, follow these steps:

1. Log on to each of the Windows Server 2012 Cluster nodes with an account with administrator privileges.

2. From Server Manager, click the upper-right Manager, and select Add Roles and Features

3. In the Before you being option, click Next to continue

4. On the Select installation type page, select Role-Based or Feature-Based Installation, and then click Next.

5. On the Select Destination Server page, chose Select a Server from the Server Pool, which should have highlighted the server you are on, and then click Next.
