I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Upgrading Domain and Forest Functional Levels
Windows Server 2012 AD DS does not immediately begin functioning at a new level, even when all DCs have been migrated. The domains and forest will be at the original functional levels. You first need to upgrade the functional level of the domain to Windows Server 2012 before you can realize the full advantages of the upgrade. See Chapter 4 for a detailed discussion of the forest and domain functional levels.
Note
The act of raising the forest or domain functional levels is irreversible. Be sure that any Windows Server 2003/2008 R2 DCs do not need to be added anywhere in the forest before performing this procedure.
