• Perform all tests with DHCP split scope, failover scope, and security configurations in an isolated lab environment before deploying on a production network.
• When migrating DHCP services to a Windows Server 2012 system using the Windows Server migration tools, only install the DHCP service on the destination server but do not configure it (to avoid losing configuration settings or issues with DHCP authorization that might be presented after the import overwrites all the existing configurations).
